P0170 and P0173-
 

Good afternoon,

I am getting the following codes on my 2001 ML320. I went through the posts and replaced the air mass sensor and the light went off for about a month and then it came back on and it stayed on. I brought my car to my regular mechanic and he checked for a vacum leak and could not find one. I'm not sure what is wrong with the car. Any help would be appreciated:

Is this modelrequired to get the adaptation codes reset?
How would I know if it is the fuel pump or the fuel regulator-would the car perform differently?
Could it just be the fuel filter that needs to be addressed.
