Default noise problem need help ASAP

I have a 2000 ML320 and just recently when i start my car the engine makes this loud noise and when i start steering the wheels the wheels also make this loud sound. It's only when the engine is warmed up that the noise goes away but i never had any problem with it before. Can anyone tell me what's going on with my car?

Sounds like the power steering pump, or its cooler...check the fluid in it. Hope this helps.

I agree, it sounds like your PS pump is about to go. Does the noise sound like a whine? If it does then it is definately something wrong with your pump or something related like a PS hose could be leaking.

thanks for all your help. so it seems that there were no more power steering fluid left so i fill it up last night and this morning the far was back to normal. Thanks again!! Another question i got for you guys..When you first start your car and drive off without it warming up does your ML hella lag and seems like it doesn't wanna go anywhere?? I usually have to warm up my car for like 2-4min for it to warm up before i drive off because if i just start my car and drive when the engine is cold my car goes hella slow/car hella shakes. Does your ML do that too or is it just mines??

Yep...mine feels like I am stuck in low range or something, I read some where that 3 minutes was the perfect warmup time from a cold start up. Guess the fluids have to warm up for normal operation.
