2000 ML430 with P0170 and P0173 error codes. Vehicle seemed to be running fine but wanted to get rid of the error codes. Ordered a MAF on e-bay and replaced only to have sluggish acceleration after replacement.Put the original MAF back in and the vehicle barely idles and will not accelerate.

Help!

 

YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK.......MAF ........PROBLEM...BUT MAY BE..... THE ONE THE YOU GET FROM ....EBAY ARE DEFECTIVE.......BUY THE ORIGINAL ONE................AND CHANGE IT AGAIN....

 

You may need to clean the MAF. Auto stores sell MAF spray cleaner. The sensor may be polluted and thus sending the signal.

 

Agreed with previous post. Try and clean the MAF...this usually solves most MAF problems.

 

Try cleaning it first.
