Low Fuel Light Keeps Blinking

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this problem. I have a '00 ML320, if the vehicle is warmed up and idle's for length of time (sitting in a drive through...etc), my low fuel light starts blinking...even if I have a full tank. Any ideas?

possible purge leak problem...may be leaking gas cap...is check engine light on??
