Hey I installed a AVN-30D unit into a 2000 ml320. I had to make a custom mounting bracket and use the wiring harness from the older audi's (crutchfield.com). I ran into a few problems,

1) The eclipse came with the plug in for a kia sorento so I had to cut the wires at the plug and wire them into the wiring harness. I don'thave a continuous positivewire coming from the crutchfield adapter ( which is ok but everytime I turn off thte car i lose my stations...etc,)

2) There also isn't an amp plug in. I need to bypass my amp. Does anyone have an ideas or links to other threads. I've searched a little but never got the jist. Also I don't even know where the amp is.

3) Does the speed sensor need to be hooked up ? My navigation seems to work ok but I cannot search ( which i beleive is because I don't have the parking break grounded)

4) Where would you recommend putting the navigation antenna ( looks just like the satellite raido antennas )

Anyone who could help me out or send me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.
