What is the difference between a skytop and a sunroof
What is the difference between a power skytop and a sunroof ??
I am trying to assist my friend in his sale of his 2001 ML430 ..
It seems like the skytop is pretty pricey but I don't know what it is? He is vehicle is very loaded but I don't know the difference from a sunroof and a skytop ..
Any help would be appreciated and if anyone is interested a low mileage ML430 then send me an email ..

RE: What is the difference between a skytop and a sunroof
The 'sunroof' or 'moonroof' as it used to be called, is what most people think of; A small section of the roof that either retracts, tilts, is made of glass or all of the above.
The 'skytop' or 'lamella roof' is the type that the whole roof (appx. 80%) opens up by having smaller panels that overlap each other as it is opened. A very cool feature, if there is a NEED for it, otherwise it's just a very expensive option that -IMHO is unnessesary.
