Hi:

I have to change the gas filter on my ML 320, got the filter but I can't find the filter on the car. I even went under the car to look for it from the gas tank to the front but haven't seen it.

Dose somebody know where to look for that pesky thing?

behind Left Rear tire driver side, not to the rear of the tire, but behind the tire. on the frame under the body of the car. it is visible from outside the car, might have to squat down and look to see it. depends on your year vehicle. older MLs are where i just told you, newer ones are in the fuel sending unit itself.

by the way its not an easy replacement the lines can be a bitch. little clips to push in to remove the lines from the filter/fuel regulator, there is a special tool but youll be able to find something to make it work.
