Hi all....hope you can help me...I have a 2002 ML 500.....recently i have had problems starting the car in morning only....once it finally does start it is fine the rest of the day....In the morning when i go to start the car, all i get is a "click" ....no engine turning over, does not try to start...just a quiet click noise....lights, radio, horn all work fine....battery less than a year old and totally fine....some mornings it will take two attempts, some mornings it will take 10 minutes....but it always starts at some point and runs and has no problems the rest of the day at all......any advice before i take it in? starter? relay?sensor? any advice is appreciated....Thanks

 

there was a fuel pump / upgraded line assembly problem in the ML's. Mine had similar symptoms until I got it diagnosed and replaced. I'd recommend having your car diagnosed at a dealer.

 

CLICKING SOUNDS MORE LIKE A STATER MOTOR TO ME,BEFORE ANY THING DO FEW DIY BY CHECKING BATTERY TERMINAL FOR TIGHTNESS,IF ALL OK HAVE THE STARTER CHECKED.
