Hey I am new to the Mercedes Forums, but I had a question about the transmission on a 2000 ML320. The transmission is really werid, not smooth, when you change into tiptronic mode, and down shift to 1st gear approaching a stop, you get this nasty jerk while the transmission is shifting. Also, When I was getting out of tiptronic mode today, I heard this terrible noise and felt the transmission trying to find gear.... Is there anything wrong here. The car is a 2000 with 72k...

 

Benz makes ****ty transmissions.... You prabably needs a new valve body or your shift adaptations need to be reset..

 

What about when the car is cold, and the transmission doesn't shift well, it's sort of like a lag. I just feel the car doesnt perform well with cold conditions

 

The rough shifting sounds like a problem. However I can tell you that the "lag" you are experiencing is perfectly normal. The transmission is programmed to hold the gears out longer and delay shifting when cold so that the engine can run at higher RPMs and warm up quicker.

 

I have a 2000 ml320 sometimes will not shift out of fourth gear I have put . in new battery worked for a little while I have reset by holding gas pedal for15 sec than shutting off for 2 min works for awhile but than goes back to slipping and sometimes gets stuck in 4th gear and wont shift out of it until I stop and reset anyone any ideas thanks
