I am looking at a 1999 ML430 with only 19K miles. Carfax looks clean. Anything to consider before making the purchase ? How bad will the gas mileage be ?

 

My '02 ML500 averages 17.4 mpg combined . It is almost always right around that figure. I would recomend buying an extended warrenty, if it is available. One thing to be aware of is that these things eat brakes. expect about 6 or 7 thousand miles between brake jobs. Here the dealer charges about a thousand dollars a brake job. Try to find a good private Mercedes mechanic for routine maintenance. Other that that, enjoy a sweet ride. I hope this is helpful.
