GLS300 Tire Pressure Issue??
Hi all!
I'm trying to clear the warning for my tire pressure in my GLS300 2021 and this is the issue I've run into: https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/mercede...25d55f34b9.png I talked to a Costco Tire Rep and I told him my situation of how I tried setting the front tires to 39 PSI and the rears to 46 PSI and how my dash then said to "check tires". He then told me to pump the tires up to ~39 PSI and ~48 PSI because sometimes the tires deflate a little, to which I told him that was my pressure before I let out air. He then said I should reset the readings at that level. Is this what I should do?? Thanks in advance for any advice! |
Update:
https://lh3.google.com/pw/AL9nZEUvyr...-no?authuser=3 tires are definitely not good (in the red) after deflating from this advice: Ed Pare has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - GLS300 Tire Pressure Issue?? - in the Mercedes G and GL Class forum of Mercedes Forum - Mercedes Benz Enthusiast Forums. This thread is located at: https://mercedesforum.com/forum/show...5&goto=newpost Here is the message that has just been posted: *************** I went through this too. There are actually three separate tire pressure instructions: driver's door jamb, manual, and gas cap door; and they say three different pressures. My service advisor said the 39/46 psi pressures were for shipping the car to the US. The numbers to use are the gas cap door pressures. I use 32 psi all around and it works fine. Lifetime mileage is 30.5mpg for 17,000 miles at these pressures. *************** I'm not sure if the message was deleted because it was wrong. Anyway, I am taking the SUV to a Mercedes dealer to tell me what to do. I'm thinking red means really low, yellow is low, and maybe the PSI needs to be even higher than 39 front and 48 rear PSI?? Though that makes me nervous. The max PSI on the tires themselves say 50 PSI. |
Update 2:
It looks like Ed Pare was right! Thanks Ed! I went to the dealership and they told me to look at the PSI written on the gas cap: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/aA...-no?authuser=3 Then they told me I had to reset the Tire Pressure Monitor. Definitely not intuitive and I'm not sure why this isn't automatic. Anyway, problem solved! |
