722.9 direct select issue
Hello everyone.
Bought a 2006 X164 GL420CDI with TCM issue, as TCM failed to connect with solenoids.Bought new TCM (used), got it virginized and all data copied. Installed new TCM but did not recheck the selector rod plastic hook is placed exactly into the pin so after installment and not going into gear took the oil cover off to found out it was broken.Car did not crank either, only when the TCM plug was off.Replaced the rod, everything was rechecked and put it all together. Now it does not crank either when TCM is plugged in, unplug and starts fine. Codes are: P2806 Selector range sensor, not learned P1708 Control unit of direct select is in limp home mode and/or CAN communication faulty P1709 Actuator motor in direct select cannot reach it's specified target positions Car does not crank because selector is not learned and car have no idea in what gear it is Can't relearn selection range as it goes only in D for second and then it goes back to N. R and P works fine.TCM's were both VGS2 and with same OEM code. When unplugging TCM then the car starts and drives (limp mode) and all gears engage so logic says there can't be mechanical issue with ISM? Is there any solution or option I should try? Is there any aligment step when installing the selector rod what I've missed? |
