Default Y2k Transmission will not shift or return to park

Hi, I have a 2000 E320 4Matic, I can shift it into Drive (The Indicator Light no longer goes on), it will not shift out of 1st gear (Auto, or Manually), then it will not return to park position (With Brake engaged), it will only go into reverse, I need to set the Emergency brake to put it in Park.

The cluster is set in French, can I switch the language?

Thank you in advance for any advise.

if you've spilled any liquid in the gear selectror recently that could cause this condition
the transmission doesnt know what gear it is in the only fix is to replace the gear selector
as far as the french you have to get to the settings screen in the cluster to correct that
when you get there you will see the word ENGLISH then just push the arrow up or down button

Have you ever spilled coffee or any other type of drinks in the center cup holder? If you did by chance, you have shorted outelectrical circuit below. There is no fix for that but to replace the circuit. It is another one of stupid design by MBZ in W210..

Default Anyone know what circuit needs to be replaced?

I spilled the liquid into the console and now have all the same symptoms. Is this a fuse under the hood ro something else?
