Default Whats the verdict on Amsoil Synthetic ATF?

I want to put amsoil synthetic ATF in my 1996 E300D. It has a higher burn temp then Dino. Mechanic wants to put in FEBIŽ - Auto Trans Fluid 29499. I know this is the right OEM stuff, but I don't want it.

Amsoil Synthetic Universal Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF)
is supposed to work in these mercedes 236.1, 236.2, 236.6, 236.7, 236.9
But I don't recognize these numbers.

I'm assuming it can also be used in the rear diff because he wants to put the febi in the rear also.
