Default washer fluid leak

I have E320 2000 model sedan.
we had below freezing weather recently.
I saw display indicate washer fluid was low.
so I filled in the washer fluid. Within 10 minutes the indicator
came on again and I saw the fluid had leaked out.
I dont see any leaks in the plastic tank. There was fluid on the floor though.
I presume that the pipe that goes downwards is the one leaking although
I dont know its purpose. Any clues to what could be wrong and How do I fix it.

thanks in advance
randi

Default RE: washer fluid leak

Ok I found the source of the leak.
It seem like either the passenger side washer fluid outlets were losing a lot of washer fluid.
The fluid was not coming out of nozzles but was flowing out from behind it
in large quantities.

So either :
1) nozzles are blocked
2) the pipe connecting to the nozzles are either disconnected or have cracked or sprung
a leak of some kind. ( There is a plastic cover over the assembly so I didnt investigate it any further )

The second seems more probable.

Any ideas, tips, suggestions.

thankx

update : managed to get to the washer nozzle assembly and found out that the hose had disconnected
from the nozzle. I guess ice had accumulated in the outlet jets and the poweful blast of fluid jet from the
washer pump disconnected it. I reconnected it. However I noticed the plastic clips holding the
nozzle assembly was broken ( I am not at all impressed with the plastic components of MB the crack, are brittle
are poorly designed ). Since the broken clip is moulded to the assembly I would have to get a complete nozzle assembly
( new one costs about $40-50 approx) I just taped it to the hood( its not visible) with a duct tape. I have had no problem since.
