Warped Front Rotors 2010 E550 20K mi

My wife drives this car and we have had it about 2 years with 20,000 miles. She took it into the shop today because their was a wobble (shimmy) in the front end, more noticeable when braking on the hwy. MB said the front rotors are warped and want $600. I have never had this type of problem ever. My wife baby's that car. I asked what causes this and they said excessive heat... being on the brakes for a long period of time down a hill. Never happened. This just does not sit right with me. Anyone else experience this problem or seen issues here? Any suggestions?

Thanks
Tom

just to give you a heads up. Ive seen this a handful of times on the newer e class. should be covered under warranty. ive warrantied a few of these. if your persistant or keep complaining you should get them covered under warranty. good luck. I think they had a bad batch of rotors. the dealer im at warranties them, you could get new pads and rotors depending on the dealer you go to or your relationship with your service advisor you can get them covered.

2012 e550 21,000 miles. Bought as CPO in September 2014. Had to have the front rotors replaced twice already. No explanation as why this is happening but they were covered by warranty. Otherwise Wouldhave cost $800 each time.

2014 Mercedes E550 Brake Problems

I have a 2014 E550 Coupe that I purchased new in June, 2013. I have taken it to the dealer 3 times for the same problem with the brakes and now need to take it in for a fourth time for the same problem. They do not or cannot tell me what is causing the problem and all they do is replace the pads and rotors. Each time has been covered under warranty but the warranty will eventually expire and I do not want to have to pay to have parts replaced annually which is how often I have had to do this. The service adviser at Mercedes of Boerne, in Boerne TX (I live in San Antonio) told me when I was there last time that it was "a one time fix under warranty" which I did not agree to as they have to honor the warranty and their work.

I am putting together a formal complaint to Mercedes and that dealership but in the meantime, does anyone know what is causing the warping? Suggestions on what to do as the warranty will expire in about 8,000 more miles.

Finally got mine fixed (I hope)

Third time the rotors are warped and brakes shimmy horribly. Took it to a different MB dealer. They discovered that the calipers were bad. Replaced all four under warranty. Hopefully this does the trick. They think it will. You should ask you dealer if this is the problem. Keeping my fingers crossed.

E550 Brake warping problem

I have a 2010 E550 That i drive around 10,000 miles per year. Each year the rotors have warped. I had a CLK 500, Jag XF and Acura CL same mileage each year no problem. From what i see online this is definitely a design flaw on several Mercedes models. Now the big question is it a safety issue as well and another case of German car manufacture deceiving the public.
Each year they have covered under warranty this year they are saying no.
Class action? Might be time we all get together on it. Since I own large internet company I may build a sign onto call for a class action petition website. Along with a call for an investigation of Mercedes for a cover up that is obviously going on with several models. Shame on them for not learning from Volkswagen you cant hide it forever!Trump will hunt them down for sure :)
I highly suggest sell your Mercedes stock like today!
