W211 Brakes

I have just purchased a 2006 E-320 CDI.

The first thing I started was as I had no records all maintenance, I did everything I could.

I took the car to the dealer for the transmission service.
When I picked the car up the report said I had 50% brake pads left all around so not to bad, but I want to chance to better parts in the next few months.

What I don't know is what is needed to circumvent the electric braking system safely.

I would like to find a Mercedes service manual.

So any help would be Welcomed.

Thank You for the Help.

I'm getting the feeling that there not a lot of DIY'ers here.

It's hard to be a Gear Head / Petrol Head.

On weekends when I can take my tie off and get my hands dirty its a good feeling to make things better than they started out.

Well I found the information that I was looking for in of all places the Owners manual on page 99.

It tells when the electrohydraulic brake servo turns off.

So I turned off the tow-away alarm and after making sure I had everything I needed out of the car I locked it and took the keys in the house and left them there until the brakes where done.
NOTE:" make sure that you loosen the brake cap as you will be pushing brake fluid back into the master cylinder before you lock it up".

The brakes where not hard to do at all if you have done brakes on almost anything you should be able to do these.

After doing the brakes and everything was back together I got my keys and unlocked the doors and the electrohydraulic pump kicked in.

So no opening doors or unlocking anything.

This was on my 2006 E320 so read your Owners Manual.

W211 SBC unit

Hi to all. I'm Pedro Rodrigues from Portugal and I'm a Mercedes freak. I had several mercedes and presently I have a E270 CDI and a W124 Cabrio from 1994.
In my E270 CDI I got a problem, well know for Mercedes on the SBC unit. Mercedes to solve this problem has issued a warranty extension for 10 years to cover all defect s on this unit. That was the case for USA and I saw in other forums that it was also the case in UK and France. Has someone any information (or where to get) a document/letter from Mercedes reporting this problem? because in Portugal they don't want to assume the reapration cost.
Thanks for any help/idea. Bye.
