VISCO FAN question.
Hi,
I have a 1996 E230. I got this car used so I have no idea what the proper engine operating temperature is.
Mine runs about 95-98 on traffic and goes down to about 90-92 in high speed runs. Is this OK?
The mechanic noticed before that this Visco fan freewheels without any tension at all. The 2 aux. fan for the Aircon stays on and has a high speed on hot days. The temp stays below 100. I recently changed the VISCOUS FAN and it now turns on really strong unlike before but it really did not change the operating temperature. I also noticed that the 2 extra aux. fan for the Aircon do not turn on as often NOW. Hmmmmm. Is this OK???
BTW, the visco fan I got was a TRUCKTEC brand made in Germany. They said it is a Tropicalized version.
Thanks for any help.

95-98 on traffic
with the new fan clutch, the auxilliary fan now seems to be doing its job... it remains an auxilliary just in case the viscous fan fails.
