using regular gas in e350

with gas prices what they are, I've been filling my 2006 e350 with regular gas (10% ethanol usually.) I have not noticed any difference in performance or unusual sounds. Is this a safe practice, if not, what is the downside and what about 91 octane?

E350 calls for 91 octane so no problem there. ;)
