The remote, door button and trunk latch all are not working . . . but I was able to open the trunk with the key blade. What needs to be done to get all to work again???

 

the wires are broken in the trunk where the harness runs down the left side of the trunk lid hinge. you need to remove the left side trunk panel and the cover on the trunk lid assembly/ hinge. your 3rd brake light probably doesnt work and also your tag bulbs too.

 

Isn't there a control unit under the left trim in the trunk? This failed on mine - but during warranty period. :-)

pull the connector to that and re-insert it after 5 mins or so. A long-shot, but it will power it down and also wipe the pins a tad.

 

yes there is but on his 2003 E its usually the wires breaking ...repaired tons of them.

 

yes check the wires done loads of this...flipin all day long...

 

What is the procedure for fixing the wires?
