My 97 e-420 started having problems with the electronics. First the check engine light came on, then the check engine electronics lights. Car startsbut won't go over 1500 rpm.
After starting, the asr light comes on.
Any ideas?
I haven't had the codes checked yet.
Also, if it needs an ecu, I've heard that only Mercedes can activate the code on the unit and it has to be a new one from them. Any input would be appreciated.
The car is in great shape and only has 104,000 miles, so I'd like to fix it up as a daily driver.

it won't go over 1500 cause of the ASR light on. i would say its possib. the throttle actuator . but need to check codes. speed sensors could set ASR but cause light comes on right after start up it is probable actuator
