Trunk issues
normally, the truck releases when....
- the exterior, trunk lock button is depressed
(there should be no connection between this and braking so we'll disregard this as cause)
- the cabin switch is activated
(i can't imagine a connection between braking action and this switch so will disregard)
(i changed my mind. try holding DOWN the switch and stepping on the brake. does the
action of pressing on brake cause trunk to open? if not, I'd focus on the switch)
- pneumatic pump under the rear seat receives an electrical signal and it sends a puff of
air into the air hose, causing the trunk to open
(examine the area surrounding the pump for any signs of moisture. that area houses
critical electrical components which will trip (frequently irregular) poltergeists. examine
fuses for moisture. examine water drains which may pass through this under seat area
for clogging..which may empty rainwater into this area, look for rust or openings which
may allow rain spray to enter this area)
