Third brake light base removal W124
Hello
I removed the third brake light to change the bulb and apparently the Florida sun has not been very kind. It fell apart in my hand. I glued it back together as best as I could and figured I'd get one on E-bay eventually (the saddle colour is not very common) the dealer wants $85. Anyhow, when I went to replace the sadly glued light the base disintegrated as well. I do not see how to remove the base, there is no access from the trunk and it seems to be mounted to the rear decking where the speakers are. Any suggestions? Eventually I'd like to replace my coupe's trunk lid with the one from a cabriolet with the integrated brake light. That's some time down the road before I re-spray. |
How did you remove the light? I just got a 92 300E and it did not come with a manual. I purchased a Haynes repair manual but it doesn't cover this.
