Went thru a car wash with the sunroof tilted up the other day. Didn't notice a thing until I got the the dryer at the end. The force of the wind turbines really shook the glass panel and even tore part of the accordian style seal. Anyway it will not automatically open or close now. I have to hold the button completely until open or close. My dumb mistake.

However, thesunroofhad the same issue when it was delivered new (wouldn't open or close automatically). Dealer said it had to do with a sensor that was designed to stop the roof when there was an obstruction. Any idea what Ican try on my own to resolve?

Sorry. It is a 2003 E320.When I returned it to the dealer the first time, they said they re-set something and made it work. Wish I knew what that was. Or any other solution. Thanks.
