My SRS lamp first came on when having a person in the passenger seat.
Now it is almost always on. The small "airbag off" light between the seats is on as well. Is the only way to solve this to change the seat sensor or is there any other (cheaper/easier) way to make the airbags work?

Johan, the correct way to address this issue is to replace the Seat occupancy sensor mat.
