Seat twisting when raised???
Hey everyone,
I have a 1995 E320 wagon and a problem with my front passenger seat. The seat is now stuck in the up or raised position. ie: the side of the seat is above the center console. When I try to move the seat down by pushing down on the center seat adjustment switch....the seat won't lower itself and just twists. The seat will actually twist counterclockwise. No obstructions under the seat. The seat will move forward, back etc. All other adjustments work. Dang thing won't come down and my passengers have their heads in the headline! Any ideas? Help please. Thanks all.

you may not be seeing any obstruction(s), but there is, or gearing on one side is inop. you
will need to pull the seat and tip upside down to isolate the problem. doesn't sound too
difficult to do since it's really all about motor and gear.
in the recesses of my brain, i am seeing a motor driven, fan shaped gear which performs
the raising/lowering.
