Seat belt sign
Dear All,
I've just purchased E500 Oct. 04 and faced with the following problem. When you and your front passenger get into the car fasten seat belt the seat belt sign goes off which is OK. You start to drive and stop to let the passenger out. He/she unfasten and get out from the car, BUT the sign goes on. The miracle is that the lamp passanger airbag off goes on which means that in-built gauge detects that the passenger seat is already empty. If you then fasten the empty seat the seat belt sign goes off and pass airbag off on :). Does anybody face with the same? Or just explain how it works? :) Sorry for my poor English, I am writing from Russia :) Thanx a lot in advance Oleg |
RE: Seat belt sign
Hi,
There is aa seat belt sensor and a passenger occupancy seat sensor for the srs.Your system may have a broken wire or bad harness. What year? Most dealerships have the seat belt system warrantied by Mercedes for a set amount of years. Or you need to check all the fittings at the seat to make sure the wires are all in good shape. ohlord |
