Thanks...

Here is my VIN for my 97 E420.

WDBJF72F1VA427460

Not sure if it has the ASSYST function.

Can I use the instructions in the attachment for my car?

I suggest you to get a Factory Mercedes Manual.

It has all service and maintenance instructions, step by step.

A great help, hope this will help you.

Howie your posting bothered me.
You said you changed the oil yourself with Mobil Synthetic - was that Mobil 1 ? If so, was the car filled with Mobil 1 from the begining ?
It is my understanding you can do serious damage to the engine if you switched from "regular" oil to "synthetic" oil. I wish someone else with more knowledge than me in this area comment on the subject too, please.

OKay
Thanx a lot Sleep. I will get back to U when I have tried it. My service is due in about 8000 km, so there is still plenty of time and milage.
Thanx again /Rog

PS Alternatively, U could tell me the other way too now. That way I have both.

if you have the multi-function steering wheel, you do it from there.
