Reliability: E320 wagon 2001-03
Looking to purchase a 2001-03 E-wagon. NON awd. Upgrading from a '95.
Are there any reliability issues or chronic problems (like the head gaskets and wireing harness in the W124) to worry about ?
How has overall reliability been for this model compared to the W123 and W124 wagons ?
Also, can anyone comment on the quality of current MB deal extended warranties or the MB Certified Warranty program ?
Thanks in advance !

RE: Reliability: E320 wagon 2001-03
we just purchased an '02 wagon 10 days ago. There seem to be many RWD W210 wagons available. I got the VMI for every car I was considering. I found one with a flawless service record (no warranty claims) and still under factory warranty.
From what I can determine, the serious electrical problems existed in the early 210 cars. Rust is an issue on these cars which is REALLY discouraging and shocking, IMO. The "lifetime" fill transmissions must serviced contrary to claims by the mfr.
If you can find a car that is CPO and it's not crazy expensive, I'd say that would be very valuable.
I feel lucky finding the car I did - - it's REAL nice!
