rear window sunshade...?
 

'97 E420.. my rear window sunshade... switch is acting up..?? I checked the fuse...still good.??....it's been hot these past few days...so I raise the sunshade..... but yesterday,/... the switch won't work...?? Anybody had this problem..?? let me know.. thanks

Yes. I used it quite a bit and one day it stuck in the up position. My fuse was good too. Turn your motor off but leave the power on so that you can raise and lower the windows. When you try to activate the switch, does it make a clicking sound? If so, you could have a bad switch. My local mechanice replaced it for cheap. He said that it was gummed up with coffee and that whoever had my car before me spilled a lot of coffee over the years in the console. If you are not getting a clicking sound...good luck. A mechanic told me that they hate those things because they are a bitch to work on. Prepare to spend money, or you can pay a small amount and have the mechanic release the brackets so that it will recline....forever unless you get a new motor. I hope that this helps.

Thanks...will be going to my mechanic later.... my check engine electronics just lit up yesterday??? [&:]... I think it's the switch too....???? I hope..??:eek:
