select wheel size, then carefully select tire size. it's not that simple

my favorite...

good one showing side fits...

another good one..for MBs, showing reasonable fitments...

You could roll the front fenders and get the e55 staggered specs with 18's and 275 rears 245 fronts, easier to fit would be 265r and 235f.

19's or 20's will ruin the ride, require front camber bolts and rear camber links without the use of these mods your new expensive 19 or 20 inch tires won't last 10000miles.
Stuff some 18's on it with wide meats drop it with hr springs and sport shocks bilsteins and enjoy it without breaking the bank.

Dang but i really wanted to put 19s...

is there no offset and width i can use that is safe?

18s seems so small for such a big car.

I have 19's that i will be putting on this weekend. 92 300e, and they are staggered. 9.5 rear and 8.5 front, Im looking forward to getting these babies laced up and going....I've been scouring all of the forums and websites trying to guage what size rubber i need to put on these, and still dont have an accurate answer, i'll just do what feel right at the moment, and throw them on!!!

his is a 92 300e even less adaptable to big rim and big tire combinations he will have his own set of problems. You will have problems with contact of the fenders, the suspension bolt that gets in the way and alignment issues. You brakes will be affected by the great increase in unsprung weight and your ride quality will be so poor as to be upsetting.
oh well live and learn
