Is it possible to adjust Parking brakes ? Regards Syed |
RE: Parking brake adjustment - 190E, 2.3,1991-ABS
Yes,jack up the car, remove the wheels, locate the parking brake cable, look at where it goes behind the brake caliper, you will see an old fashioned tooth wheel adjuster.I forget what direction to pry it with a brake spoon or a screw driver so you will need experiment a bit.Tighten it up till the rotor wont spin and then back it up a bit like two or three clicks, repeat on the other side.
if the cable is stretched to far to get it adjusted new cables are at autohausaz.com but the above should work fine. ohlord |

Ohlord,
Thank you for the information. I will try and let you know the results. Regards Syed |
I have recently been getting a lot of noise out of my e-brake.
It sqweeks like mad when up, and when it's jacked-up, you can easily pull lightly on the cables attatched to the wheel and hear them shreek. The brake still works, it just makes noise most of the time and could use replacing. Any suggestions what to do, or how much a job and parts would cost? |
