new here just some questions :)
I am buying a 1993 300E 2.8 i have never owned a Benz before and i am looking for some good websites for parts.
also the bage on the trunk says 2.8 but the person i am buying it from said that when he took it in for a tune up some of the parts (gaskets im guessing) for the 2.8 didnt fit so the mechanic thought it might be a 3.0 what are the ways to tell these two motors apart?

Checking the vin will tell you what engine the car came with,will not tell you if someone put a replacment from a junker in it's place.Inspect the car very carefully.
