Default my 97 e320 is doing rough idle and I need help...

Hello everyone,

I have a 97 E320 has no issue for a year and today it deceided to vibrate and shut off engine near my home.
I restarted the engine it idle rough and feels weak with louder engine sound. It does not produce extra noise just louder engine. When I restarted the engine "check engine" and "engine electronic" warning came on.

It is spark plug or wire needs to be replace, and is it something I can fix.

Thanks for your help..

Peter

I just replaced all plugs it got a little smoother but the rough vibrate still there, it feels like a cylinder is not working/spark ?
What else can I do?

Default Ignition coil.....

I had this at least twice in the past 2 years. Please check your ignition coils. There is probably one that is bad ($80).
Hope this helps.

ive seen many people who get bad fuel that causes rough idle and misfireing. did it just happen all of a sudden? the wires are usually a primary cause of engine smoothness. maybe maybe a blown out motor mount... that wont really cause a misfire but the engine will vibrate more.

Thanks for reply,

I would try to find out if it coil gone bad tomorrow. I refueled to top last week and it was down to less than 1/4 when this happened, does it take a 3/4 tank to cause problem? Please advice.

Thanks again guys.

Go to any auto parts store and have them scan it for free with OBDII scaner to see, what type of codes you have and what cylinder no. is misfiring.
