Mercedes reliability
I'm considering the purchase of an E320 or E500, however, I've been reading some disappointing reviews regarding their reliability. Those who own them, how many problems have you encountered and what was there a problem getting them fixed under warranty? I love the styling of these vehicles, but I don't want to purchase a brand new vehicle that is going to nickel and dime (or $100s and $500s as it might be) to death.

RE: Mercedes reliability
Spendyg,
Did you purchase an E yet? My 2003 has been very reliable thus far with very few problems. I have had an issue only with my sun roof as it has twice failed (it would not automatically open or close) but was resolved by the dealer in warranty. You should not have any expenses due to defects while under warranty, but once it expires - watch out. These are very expensive cars to maintain and repair.

RE: Mercedes reliability
Bought my 1999 E300 a year ago when it had 98k miles on the clock.
It has now done 112k miles, and have had no problems.
Possibly the best car I've ever had in almost every respect.
Hope that helps.
