Mercedes E350 2010

Hi all. I have a 2010 E350, before this I had a S320 for 11 years. The E350 is baffling my mechanic. It shifts into "P" while travelling slow or coming to a stop. It only seems to do this if travelling for an hour. I have to switch of, remove key and restart to reset and get going again till the next stop. We have changed the gear box oil and filter and also reprogrammed the box on side of gearbox. It does not show up a fault when hooked to the computer so we now stuck... Any help???

I have a similar problem on my S350 2011. When engine warms and I slow down, the box shifts up a gear, ie revs rise and goes into limp mode. This has been getting progressively worse over the last few weeks. Have you had any luck sorting the problem?

Apparently this is a common issue with the W221 platform - take a look at the link below to an earlier thread where this is discussed. I believe that there was some sort of resolution as well. Hope this helps you a bit and best of luck!

My E350 would lock into "P" when travelling at a slow speed. I had to get a new ignition switch for it as it eventually put up an error code.
