I have purchased 1997 E230 recently, the problem I am having is that when I reduce speed and the gear gets down a jerk is felt, there is no problem when the gear is changing from lower to higher but when it gets changed from higher to lower the jerk in gear box is felt.


I have checked the transmission oil and it is ok, what could be the problem? please help.

 

probably an issue with the valve body, or the conductor plate. could also be a worn out driveshaft coupler/flex disk. maybe motor mounts or a transmission mount.

someone advised me to first have computer test of the gearbox, so after that I will let you know the results for further advise.
