I recently purchased a 2001 E320 and had the vehicle transported to me from another state. The Transport driver alleges he lost the key, I suspect otherwise. I was able to get a replacement key a Mercedes Dealership. Will the lost key still work in the door locks and ignition? Is re-programming possible with my car?

 

you can disable the missing key, but they can still use the mechanical key to open the door.

they cannot start the engine or remotely open the door.

 

How can the missing key be disabled? Do I have to take the car to a Mercedes Service Department to have the missing key remote disabled?
