<FONT face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=blue size=4>The backlignting on my '87 300E instruments is a dismal yellow color. Has anyone upgraded to a brighter, colored bulb set? If so, can you point me to the part numbers &amp; manufacturer on the bulbs. I cannot find any callouts in my Mercedes shop manuals.</FONT></P>

I think they are 194's and I know they are 3 watts. Just replace them all and don't be intrigued by the idea of using the 5 watt bulbs because they will cause melting on the back of the panel. You should be able to get them at Wal-Mart or any light source store.
