Just bought a '94 E320. Oil pressure seemed preptty high [above 3 bar at idle] so I changed oil and put in 5W-30 synthetic. Now I am down to about 2.5 bar at idle [warm engine] in park, about 2.2 bar while STOPPED but in drive. Goes above three bar by the time I get to 8-10 mph .
Is this normal, and if not, what are the likely suspects ?

So at 60 mph, pulling 2400 rpm, it is normal for the oil pressure to exceed the range of the gauge ??

 

you should only worry if the pressure goes down.

the pressure should 3 bar or more at 2000 rpm.
