Post Help removing W211 rear bumper cover

I just purchased my first Mercedes. 2007 E350 4 Matic with the sports package. I am very happy with the purchase.

The rear bumper cover does not line up with the body panel above the driver rear wheel well (less than a 1/4" inch). It bothers the hell out of me everytime I look at the car. I was hoping the remove the bumper cover and adjust so that it lines up correctly.

Can anyone provide detailed instructions?

Thank you.

remove the trunk liners on both sides there are screws I think 10mm on the inside of the quaterpanel where the panel meets the bumper you can probably loosen them a little and might be able to get enough movement to fix it. very easy to remove the whole bumper cover if needed.

Thank you Chassis221.

Sorry for the newbe question, but are the trunk liners inside the trunk or the liners inside the rear wheel wells?

in the trunk, but also you might have to remove part of the wheel well liners for a few more screws....not totally sure but on some of the older cars there are fasteners at both spots

Talking

I love this forum already! I easily saved a couple hundred dollars by saving myself a trip to the bodyshop.

I spent a couple of hours yesterday carefully taking apart the trunk liner in order to access two 10mm bolts and a third 10mm bolt in the rear wheel well behind an access panel. I was able to re-align the bumber cover quite easily and then tighten the bolts.

Now when I glance at the car my eyes do not target the mis-aligned bumper cover anymore!

Thank you once again Chassis221!
