Groaning in engine bay, ABC?

Groaning in engine bay, ABC?
My E350 4matic "groans". I hear it and even feel it. It sounds like a pump that turns on and I think it may be thet ABC. No adverse driving effects but it sure is loud. The A/C on this car is also pretty loud, not too obvious inside the car but outside, wow.
Is this normal?
