AT gearbox oil change E200
Hello everyone!!
i am fearly new in all this, i just got my first Mercedes last week. I have 2000 E200 with auto gearbox. previous owner was telling me that he has changed oil in gearbox, but i would really doubt. there is no manual in this car, so i have no ideas how to change oil in gearbox. i know that most of you are experienced MB drivers, so maybe someone could guide me in right direction. i would really apprisiate if you could give me some info on it. could anyone tell do i need to get some other parts, other than actual oil. i do understand that filter also has to be changed, but i also heard that there is some kind of gasket kit, that also should be used? how i assume that oil will have to be filled thru that plase where deep stick suppose to be. and also in my car there is no deep stick, so how i will have to check an oil level - do i need to purchase oil level tool? maybe some of you have kind of instruction manual, that you could share?? thank you for your time regards Art |
RE: AT gearbox oil change E200
Hey, Art
where are you located? 2000 has the 722.6 trans and the diy is on benzworld.org w210 section and another one on mercedesshop.com diy section. you need filter, gasket, fluid mb spec fluid only, and the special dipstick that is critical to get the level correct. If you were stateside I sell them for $40 delivered. Dealer gets about $80. Read up on the diy's and if you decide to do it I can give you more tips. enjoy the new(old) car:D ohlord |
