Default Engine Shuts Off

I have a Mercedes 2000 E-320 with about 165K miles without any problems (until now!). It happened two weeks ago. I was picking up my son from swimming lessons and on the parking lot my car wouldn't start. I turned the key to start my car and it wouldn't start. I tried it again three times and it still wouldn't start. The starter works how it's supposed to work. On the 4th time, it started without any problems. Yesterday I was going to the Lowe's parking lot to see a guy. I talked with him for 5 minutes, and after that it would not start, AGAIN!!! After 3-4 times trying to start it, it started but, when I drove about 200 feet to the stoplight, it shot off. It started on the first time I tried to start it. After driving about 1 hour to go to a different stoplight, it shut off again, and started from the first try. The yellow engine light on the cluster panel is not on. Do you guys have any idea whats wrong?

could be the usual crank position sensor. usually have issues when hot. let it cool down and its ok and it will start.. or battery or charging system issue with not enough voltage to the engine.

Hi. Thank you. Sorry for that many questions. My friend says it may be the fuel pressure sensor. Sometimes it must get leakage. Where is it and haw can i check it? It doesn't look like the crank position sensor because I don't need to cool it down and it start when I turn the key a couple of times. It looks like not enough fuel in line. Do you have any idea what else wrong?

could check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail should be about 60 psi running the engine. and it should stay at 50 -60 after the engine is shut off. if the pressure doesnt hold at 50-60 then it could be your fuel pressure regulator which is inside of the fuel filter...but usually when the regulator goes bad the problem is usually just an extended crank at engine start up not stalling out.
