e320 cdi 2001 - knocking and lots of black smoke
Well, the occaisional knock has developed into a full time knock. Yesterday it lost all power and I ended up check this site to see why - it was the MAF and EGR sensors which needed looking into.
£120 later and they have been fitted (by me). But i still can NOT drive the car because of the black smoke and the knocking noise.
Any ideas? Any one? I have been told it could be an injector, or "something really big" but nothing has shown up on the diagnostic machine...
Please help...

RESOLVED!!!
It was indeed the injectors - numbers 1 and 3. Went to the dealers as no one else was talking with any sense. MB actually worked out CHEAPER???!!!
