E320 Cab 15"OEM wheels or 16" replacements??

Despite my insistance on everything OEM for my 95 E320 cabriolet....
I have a question: Should I consider replacing my 15" OEM 8 hole wheels with 16" tires & 8 hole wheels??
Is there an advantage???
I fear changing anything original to my MB.
How would this change from the original design affect steering andbrakes?
I believe so strongly in the research & design quality of Mercedes, it's the only car I would drive. Can I actually improve on the original design?
My wheels are a little blemished and due for replacement.
