E320 Brake questions
I will be replacing my brake pads soon, for the first time on this car (2001 E320). I have the service manual, but I still have a few questions:
1. I have seen others talk about sensors for the brake pads. Must I buy new sensors and install them with the new pads? Or can I keep the old sensors attached? Or have no sensors at all?
2. I've had this car for 1.5 years and am unsure if the brake fluid was ever changed. Should I buy new brake fluid and bleed it through? If so, how much fluid goes in an E320?
3. Can I simply use a pair of pliers to push back the caliper or do i need a special tool?
4. When I'm changing the pads, will any brake fluid leak in the process? I'm hoping to not have to bleed the brakes if it's not needed.
5. Any other suggestions?

Hi spencerj07...
1. If the sensors is not worn off or simply doesnt shows any warning on your dash board you dont have to replace it. Reuse it back
2. Replacing Brake fluids ... Yes its for your own safety, you dont know if its contaminated even thou its fluid color doesn't change at all. If your E class (wdb211) using SBC system you must use diagnostic machine to reset it.
3. This is not DIY stuff ask assistance with dealer on this because when you reset SBC system it will pumps and bleeds out to the right pressure with the help of a trained mechanic opening the bleeder all four to release the pressures on the brake lines, tight it back and the reseting the brakes can be done using the diagnostic computer reset for your model.
4. I believe not so, unless you dismantle all the brake caliper off the brake lines or if your brake ports rubber kits are leaking.
5. If your model is 210 its a different case but if your car is model 211 you need to do all of that above mentioned.
