e270 power loss
hi i've been having a few problems with my 2003 e270 cdi fmb history 110k it drops into limp mode if you accelerate resonably hard without the engine fully warm i.e. wont rev over 2700 rpm switch it off and back on and its ok, i commute 25 miles each way but i cant overtake safely until its covered about 4 miles, when its warm it pulls like a train with no issues.
i took it to my local indy they said it had logged 3 faults indicating excess inlet manifold pressure, he took it for drive and said it drives well with bags of power, he suspected the primary cat was blocked or breaking up, he put it on the ramp had a tap round but said there was nothing obvious like a rattle or soot around the exhaust joints best thing is let it develop and bring it back when it gets worse, anyone else have any ideas whats possibly causing the problem?

quick update the local garages all wanted silly money to investigate and repair, i have a warranty the covers broken parts but not failing parts so i thought stuff it and gave a good thrash i let it idle for few minuets before switching off, so far so good the last few days its behaved itself hopefully as suggested it was carbon build up thanks again
I encounter quite similar problem. this only happens after a long drive over highways, and when i slowed down below 100kph, i cant accelerate back above 70kph.
No one has been able to help diagnose the problem. Any quick fix or tips ?

no sorry i've had no joy with mine yet, sometimes it can go weeks without a problem then shut down 2 or 3 times in a few miles, have you had the codes read? mine is still showing "too much inlet manifold pressure". i've been to few places now who just want to throw parts at it to see if they can fix it as the problem wont occur when they test it hot or cold. i think i will have to wait for it to happen all the time to get an accurate diagnosis.
