E-Glass Dependability?
Glad to find a forum spec. for Mercedes.
I'm looking for input from professional mechs & dailyMerc. owners. I own a 1999 E320 3.2 liter twinspark 18 valve V-6. It justturn over 85k and the warranty runs outDec. 2008. I really love my Merc. and it's in perfect condition, with 100% of all the reg. maintance kept. BUT with the warranty ending I've been advised that I need to sell it to prevent being the victim of expensive repair bills that MAY be waiting for me after 100k. Soooo... what do I do with my E320? This is my 1st Mercedes and I have no idea of what to expect as to dependability. Thanks for and guidence! |

C280 Sport,
Thanks for your input, but I already own the E320, just not sure whether to keep it after the warranty ends. Basically... is a 1999 E320 w/85k miles on it a reliable vehicle? We all know that a Mercedes is a world-class automobile, but let one break and it can be a hard hit to your bank account. |
RE: E-Glass Dependability?
Oh boy sorry about the confusion. Yes they are expensive to fix. I have been prety lucky with all mine thank god. Keeping it is up to you. If you are looking for something newer then ya sell it off. If it still puts a smile on your face evertime you get into it then I would keep it.

RE: E-Glass Dependability?
Have it checked over for any potential problems that could be coming up. You could be lookingat replacing several rubber parts, the suspension and other components due to age. Personally I would move onto a newer one and that still will keep you happy, if not more satisfied. Sell it while it still has a bit of warranty just for another owners confidence.
