Driving in Manual Overridest
Left my sunroof open and it stormed, so water got on shifter box and must have seeped down. The car wont go out of park, so I had to manually override by putting a pen in spot near Drive. It now disengages and I can drive, but the RPMs are going high, as if I am in a low gear. Does anyone know how to manually go into Drive gear when in this manual mode?

RE: Driving in Manual Overridest
REPLACE THE SHIFTER AND HOPE THAT NO OTHER PROBLEMS ARISE. MB VEHILCES DO NOT LIKE WATER INSIDE. KNOW OF A GL THAT HAD A FLOWER VASE OF WATER SPILL BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT AND COST THE OWNER $3000.00 TO REPAIR ALL ISSUES.

RE: Driving in Manual Override
Thanks- yes it is an automatic. Just dropped it off to have the shifter replaced- driving in override did not seem good for the car- rpm's were high!
